What is Confluence Ideathon 2021?
The Confluence Ideathon 2021 is an arts hackathon that addresses problems related to the creation of a museum and cultural centre which will bring together performing, visual, culinary, film, and literary practices in the arts. It aims to bring together the most innovative minds in the world and develop creative solutions for a world class arts facility in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The Ideathon seeks to address the various elements that must be put into practice for this space – accessibility, inclusion, sustainability, and enjoyment in experiencing the arts. The focus is on finding answers to questions that impact different kinds of visitor experiences and resource-use.
Background
Arts and culture are the foundations that express a region’s past, present and future. The need for the arts to expand—to become more accessible as a platform for participatory and wide public engagement—is crucial. A strong cultural space has the potential to change and positively impact the way a city or region is inhabited and viewed. Many case studies have established that globally, a cultural intervention in a public sphere not only activates and improves the urban milieu of the region, but also creates an impact on local as well as tourist communities, improves civic sensibilities and promotes well-being through providing possibilities for creative expression. We are keen to revisit our rich heritage and explore how this can become a tool for learning, opportunities, and employment in the arts.Arts and culture are the foundations that express a region’s past, present and future.
